United Airlines Flight Catches Fire On Runway In Houston, US
A United Airlines flight bound for New York’s LaGuardia Airport caught fire on the runway at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport just before takeoff. Flames were seen on the right wing of the Airbus A319, forcing the crew to abort takeoff and evacuate all 104 passengers using emergency slides and stairs. No injuries were reported, and United Airlines quickly arranged a replacement flight. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into the incident, which comes amid growing concerns over aviation safety following two recent fatal plane crashes in the US.
